Michael W. Hooper, 69, of Belvidere, passed quietly in his sleep at home with his family present on Sunday, September 23, 2012 following a short battle with cancer. He was born on November 15, 1942 in Bedford, Ohio; the son of John and Alice (Ford) Hooper. Michael married Sharon Lucas in Alexandria, Virginia on September 13, 1965. He was a buyer for A T & T. Michael proudly served his country from 1960 to 1963 in the Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Boone Post 77 and the Veteran of Foreign Wars, John Hugo Kaiser, Belvidere Post 1461. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Shannon (Chuck Johnson) Panzke; son, Christopher (DeAnn) Hooper; five grandchildren, Ryan, Mitchell, Sam, Isabella and Brooklynn; a sister, Patricia Pasek; three brother-in-laws, Tony (Pam); Michael and Joe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Franklin Pasek.
