Michael Anthony Freeman, 67, of Belvidere, IL, passed away in his home, following a short illness, on February 23, 2025. Born on April 30, 1957, he was the son of Kenneth and Deloris (Williams) Freeman.
Michael graduated from Belvidere High School and had a deep passion for hockey during his younger years. He worked at Anderson and Dashney for over 20 years and was also involved in several small family-owned businesses throughout his life. A hardworking and dedicated man, Michael always put his family first.
On October 17, 2008, Michael married the love of his life, Nancy (Nordquist) Freeman, with whom he shared many happy years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Michael was a devoted father who cared deeply for his loved ones. He was a proud supporter of Donald Trump, a proud American who loved country and his community. Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was fishing in the great outdoors, grilling for friends, or hosting gatherings, Michael enjoyed being surrounded by the people who mattered most to him.
He was an avid fan of the Raiders football team, the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team, and Formula 1 racing. Michael's passion for sports and his unyielding support for his favorite teams were part of what made him so special.
Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, his hardworking nature, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Whitney Walraven; grandchildren, Raven and Regan Wilks; siblings, Rose (Fred) Lind, Carol (Lee) Raymond, Marry Papham, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family whom he loved dearly.
He is welcomed into heaven by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Wendy Kay Walraven; mother of his two daughters, Donna Walraven; brothers, Phil, Terry, Harry, Arch, Robert, Larry, and Pat; as well as sister, Suzanne.
Michael's celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
