Michael D. Berkley, 57, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in Nelson Debes Subacute following a lengthy illness. He was born in Lincoln, Illinois on January 18, 1954, the son of Vernon and Donna (Wampler) Berkley. Mike was a graduate of North Boone High School. He was a welder for Caldwell Co. in Rockford, Illinois. Mike enjoyed riding his motorcycle fishing and expressing his creativity in woodworking. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter L. He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Joe) Heinrich, Rockford; his son, Randy Berkley, Elgin, Illinois; two grandsons, Joshua and Carter Heinrich, Rockford; his parents, Vernon and Donna; two sisters, Sheila (Jim Johnson) Clark, Roscoe; Linda (Mike) Butz, Belvidere; his brother, Don (Judy) Berkley; Belvidere; a close friend, Shirley Watson. Mike was preceded in death by his two brothers, Timmy and Johnny Berkley and his brother-in-law, Doug Clark.
