Melvin R. Warren, 80, of Rockford, died May 6, 2012 in Swedish American Hospital after a long illness. Born January 12, 1932 in Brookings, South Dekota, son of John and Mildred (Anderson) Warren. Served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Married Doris West on August 18, 1990 in DeKalb. Formerly employed by Countryman Lumber and Belvidere Construction, member of the VFW and the Good Tymes car club. Survivors include his loving wife Doris, children Julie (Jerry) Anderson, Brenda (Dana) Nolta, Cathy (David) Eklund, Jean (Scott) Masson, Mark Warren, Rick (Sandy) Warren, Merry Bates, step-children Robert (Bev) West, Angie (Jeff) Lieving, Doug West, Terry West, Michelle (Eric) Christensen, 29 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and brother Lester (Jean) Warren. Predeceased by his parents and first wife Juleen (Jackels) Warren.
