Melvin C. Johannes, 94, of Belvidere, died Friday, May 28, 2010 in Maplecrest Care Center. Born September 28, 1915 in Belvidere, son of William and Wilhelmina (Brehmer) Johannes. Married Hazel Marie Galloway on September 18, 1946 in Belvidere, she died on January 21, 1987. Owner of Johannes-McLean Electric, member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Boone County VFW and American Legion.Survivors include son William Johannes of Rockton, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Hazel, daughter Sally Ann Outis, and brothers Arthur Louis Christian Johannes and Walter Frederick Johannes and sister Elsie Johannes.
