Melita F. Oates, 92, of Belvidere IL passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Maple Crest Care Center, in Belvidere, IL. Melita was born August 16, 1928 in Patch Grove, WI the daughter of Charles and Rose Alt. She married the love of her life LaVern Oates on November 26, 1949 in Cuba City WI. Melita was an expert quilter, enjoyed gardening and cheering on her Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed her many years at Parkside Manor and spending time with her friends and family.

Melita is loved and missed by her children; Sharon (Larry) Hall, Greg (Laurel) Oates, Kathy Hansen; 2 brothers, 1 sister,4 grandchildren, Heather and Jason Hall, Nathan (Aimee) Hansen and Brandon (Deanna ) Hansen; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, LaVern; son-in-law, Steven Hansen and 6 siblings.
