Maynard Koltz, 91, of Capron, IL, died peacefully at his home January 30, 2023, in Capron. He was born August 24, 1931, in Capron, son to Richard and Maude (DeMunn) Koltz. Maynard graduated from Capron High School in 1949 and continued with his training at IBM. He joined the military and served in the Army in the Korean War. He married his sweetheart, Connie Hoskins, November 19, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, IL.  He worked at Sundstrand in Rockford and had a long career as a Postmaster in Capron. Maynard was a member of Capron Lutheran Church and Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. He belonged to the Harvard Moose Club, Capron Lion's Club and The American Legion. His interests included music, where he played the trombone in the bands, Blue Notes, Interludes, and many other area bands. He loved Chess, fishing and playing cards with family and friends.  He also loved bird watching and feeding his backyard squirrels. He enjoyed camping with his family and loved to tell stories. Maynard thoroughly enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Maynard had a wonderful sense of humor and family was the center and joy of his life!

Maynard is loved and will be missed by his wife, Connie; daughters, Kim (Gary) Kline, Tami (Lennie) Doetch, and Jil Koltz; grandchildren, Jacob (Rebecca) Kline, Beth Kline, Leah (Tyler) Meldrum, Mary Kline, Jeremy (Beth) Doetch, Shauna (Jim) McNally, Barry (Kamey) Doetch, Tyler Koltz and Darik (Angie) Koltz; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Cal David; and 6 siblings.
