Garden Prairie, ILMaynard F. "Skee" Bye, 87 of Garden Prairie went home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Maple Crest Nursing Home. Maynard was born December 17, 1923 in Belvidere, IL the son of Charles and Edith (Court) Bye. He married Imogene Morgan in Belvidere on April 17, 1949; they recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. Maynard served on numerous boards and committees in the Boone County area including Farm Service, Farm Bureau and a 4-H leader for 36 years and was awarded the Boone County Fair 4-H Beef Lifetime Achievement in 2002. He was on the Shattuck Grove Cemetery board and a past Elder of First Presbyterian Church.Maynard Bye is survived by his wife Imogene; daughters Sandy (Gary) Smith, Brenda (Lyle) Zellner; daughter in-law Cheryl (Dennis) Sturges; grandchildren Scot (Kim) Sell, Stuart (Michelle) Sell, Stephanie Bye, Bryan (Jessica) Bye, Jason Sturges, Ashley Pickle, Stacy Smith, Troy (Jamie) Smith; great grandchildren Damon Timmerman, Alexis Sell, Emma Bye, James Bye, Genoveve Bye, Mason Lambert and Noah Smith; sister Gladys "Peg" Vowles; special friends Gary Turner, Jim Turner, Craig Fowler, Dale Bye and Clarence DuPont. Maynard is predeceased by his son Dennis Bye; brothers Merrill, Leslie and Ray; sisters Elsie and Edna.The family offers a special "Thank You" to the Passage Hospice Group and Maple Crest Nursing Home for all the loving care provided.

Memorials can be given in care of Passage Hospice and the Farm Bureau Foundation in Maynard's name.
