Belvidere, ILMaynard H. Braun, 88, of Belvidere, IL died Monday evening, July 2, 2012 in Northwoods Care Center after a lingering illness. Maynard was born December 10, 1923 in Belvidere, the son of Carl and Emma (Wolf) Braun. Maynard graduated from Belvidere high School with the class of 1943. He worked for Sanitary Scale until 1969 when he started work with Cam-Car/Textron retiring in 1985. Maynard was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served on the finance committee and was a member of the dart ball team. Maynard enjoyed time spent fishing and being active with the Keen Age Center.Maynard is survived by his sister in-law, Virginia Braun of Belvidere; nieces Anna Louise (Kenneth) Robertson, Cheryl (Tom) Pipkin; nephews Steven (Carrie) Braun and Mark Braun; numerous cousins. Maynard is predeceased by his parents and brothers Clemens, Franklin and Alden.
