Maux "Chris" Gorden Christensen, 86, of Belvidere, IL , died peacefully, in Rockford, IL February 28, 2020. He was born to Raymond Bethuel and Idella (Risk) Christensen March 10, 1933 in Walt Hill, Nebraska. Chris married his sweetheart, Gladys Johnson, October 6, 1956 in Rockford.

Chris was a high school graduate and was an independent operator in residential construction for many years. He was an Army veteran in the Korean War. Chris was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Rockford. He loved reading, playing chess, walking and fishing. He loved taking care of his apple trees and his John Deere antique tractors.

Chris is loved and dearly missed by his wife, Gladys; son, Mark (Sylvia) Christensen; daughter, Patricia Shannon (late Bradley Shannon); sisters, Barbara Ellen Perkins of Tennessee and Ramona Kay Terry of Georgia; grandchildren, Heather Shannon, Oliver Christensen; and great- grandchildren, Michael and Liam.
