Maurice C. "Maury" Webster, 90, of Rockford died Thursday, January 10, 2008 in River Bluff Nursing Home following a short illness. Born March 7, 1917 in Westfield, Pa., the son of Warren and Ellen (Higgins) Webster. He has lived 2 years in Rockford, coming here from Belvidere. He was married to Gladys Isabell in San Antonio, Texas July 19, 1943. Employed as a grinder for Arnold Engineering, Marengo, Ill. Maury served in the Army in WWII. He was a longtime member of Belvidere Church of Christ and the Disabled Veterans Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool, fishing, cards, dancing and bowling. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Webster, Akron, Oh.; and son, Dana (Vernice) Webster, Michie, Tn.; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Bonnie Evans, and sister Agnes Washburn.
