Obituary

Maude S. Schulte, 100, of Rockford, formerly of Belvidere, died Monday, December 17, 2007, in Fairhaven Health Care Center following a long illness. Born November 17, 1907, in Belvidere, Ill.; the daughter of Charles Grant and M. Maud (Stockwell) Slater. She married Frederick W. Schulte in Belvidere on April 15, 1928. She was a bookkeeper for various Plumbing Companies, the Boone Co. Farm Bureau and Boone Co. Farm Service. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Women's Guild; and former Bell Ringer at Immanuel Lutheran Church; a member of A. S. A. Cottrell Chapter of the D. A. R.; a former Girl Scout Leader and member of Belvidere Federated Women's Club. Maude graduated from Belvidere High School in 1925. She is survived by her three daughters, Sanda (Harold) Curtis, LaFayette, Ill.; Barbara (Harold) Anderson, Belvidere; Joyce Giger, The Villages, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Christine (Rob) Curtis-Todd; Michael Curtis; Susan Morgan; Debra (Jeff) Hasselmann; Tammy DeCastro; Patrick Hogan; Erin (Tim) Landvogt; nine great-grandchildren, Talia DeCastro; Natalie Hogan; Tyler Hogan; Travis Hogan; Kyle Hogan; Lauren Landvogt; Danielle Landvogt; Jacob Brenz; Bailey Morgan; a brother, Franklyn (Marilyn) Slater, Menlo Park, Cal. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, Grant, Charles, Donald, Harry, and Hobart Slater and a sister, Bessie Spanier.
