Mattie E. Morovic, 82, of Belvidere, IL died Thursday morning, July 27, 2006 in Maple Crest Care Centre after a lingering illness. Mattie was born December 20, 1923 in Steubenville, Ohio the daughter of Samuel and Ora (Nease) Friend. Mattie married Victor W. Morovic on July 16, 1943 in Temple, TX. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and wonderful grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, music, and was very artistic. Mattie was deeply rooted in her faith. Survivors include her children, Lynda (James) Hill of Lancaster, SC, Sally (Roger) Stegemann, of Belvidere, Susanne Hunter of Belvidere, Terry Morovic of Arlington, TX, James (Traci) Morovic of Madison, WI, brother, Elmer (Audrey) Friend of Belvidere, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Victor, brothers Samuel, Curtis, and James.The family wishes to acknowledge the doctors, nurses, care givers and her Maple Crest family for the tender and loving care given to Mattie.

A memorial will be established for Maple Crest Care Centre.
