Matthew William Schultz, 46, of Rockford, IL. passed away July 2, 2023. He was born on March 11, 1977 to Darrell and Kathleen (Thurow) Schultz. Matthew was born and raised in Belvidere, IL. He graduated from BHS class of 1995. Matthew was locally famous for his position of left guard in the 1994 & 1995 Belvidere Buc football state championships. On April 8, 2016 on Lido Beach he married the love of his life, Robin. They shared 14 years together. He was the proud father of Hayley and Aurora. He was a deeply devoted husband, father, and "Mattman." Matthew worked for various companies within the telecommunications industry. He enjoyed gambling. His favorite games included craps, blackjack and slot machines. Matthew had a deep love of music, and would often devote his time to seeing his favorite bands live. He had a love for live music, especially Phish and Dave Matthews Band. Matt was an avid fisherman and a member of the Belstone fishing club. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Schultz; his daughters, Hayley (Keegan Langley) Borrett, and Aurora (Zach Campbell) Schultz; his father, Darrell Schultz; brother, Tony Schultz; grandchildren, Halen, Cheslin, and Roserin Langley; as well as in-laws, Dale and Kim Dickinson. He was special uncle "Mattman" to Braxton, Bryce, and Aria. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his mother, Kathy Schultz; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Matthew's visitation will be Wednesday, July 12 between 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A second visitation will take place Thursday, July 13, at 10am. Memorial service to follow at 11am at Anderson's.
