Mary P. Winters, 61, of Rockford, formerly of Belvidere, died at 5:40 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2008, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mary was born October 19, 1947, in Chicago, the daughter of Daniel Robert and E. Louise Patnoe McNamara. On December 17, 1970, she married Russell Lee Winters in Winter Haven, CA. Mary was a graphic designer, first at Print World in Belvidere for 15 years and then at Business Cards Tomorrow in Machesney Park for 10 years. She was an avid quilter and also enjoyed crocheting. Her #1 passion was her grandchildren.Survivors include her husband, Russell; children Therese "Tracy" Winters and Christine "Chris" Winters-Perez, both of Belvidere, Ernest "Ernie" Winters of Rockford, and Steven "Steve" Winters of Belvidere; brothers Michael "Mike", Timothy "Tim", Thomas "Tom", and Patrick "P.J." McNamara, all of Phoenix, AZ; sister Eileen McNamara Simpson, of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Caitlin, David, Rose, Molly, Justin, Kayla, Derek, Jessica, and Stephanie; one great-grandchild; and her beloved bassett, Freckles. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dan and Jim McNamara..
