Mary J. Wilson, 71, of Belvidere, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in her home following a long illness. She was born January 30, 1936 in Spring Township, Ill., the daughter of Raymond and Jane (Blachford) Sullivan. Mary has lived most of here life in the Boone County area . She did live in Whiteside County from 1958 to 1976. She was married to Robert Edlund then Ernest E. Wilson in Flora Township, Ill. on April 18, 1992. Mary was employed as Data Processor for Swedish-American Hospital for seventeen years retiring August 31, 1907. She was a lifetime member of the Boone County Historical Society. Member of Rock River Area Square Dancers serving as the Director for the State of Illinois representing the Rockford area. Member of S.C.I.S.D.A. serving as Vice President of the Northern Region and Recording Secretary. Member of the Illinois State Convention Sewing Clinic Recording Secretary. She was the recipient of the RRADA Gypsy award. She is survived by her husband, Ernest, of Belvidere; 5 children, Teresa (Drane) Parker, Jacksonville, Fla.; Robert (Julie) Edlund, Bradeton, Fla.; Katheleen (Anthony) Berg, Byron, Ill.; Ann Edlund, Rockford, Ill.; Donna (Rob) Burlo; Capron, Ill.; 3 Stepchildren, Carol Ann Duplississ, South Dakota; Ronald Allen (Pat) Wilson and Larry Wilson, both of Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Helen (Roger) Huber Belvidere, Ill.; Ruth (Dan) Clay, Punta Gorda, Fla. She was preceded in death by parents, a daughter, Gail Edlund, 2 sons, Raymond and Thomas Edlund, a granddaughter-in-law, Ariana Wheeler and great-granddaughter, Katiana Wheeler, and infant sister, Frances Raelene Sullivan. The family wishes to thank the Northern Illinois Hospice Association for their diligent care to Mary.
Memorials may be made in her name in care of the family.
