Mary Ellen Stanford, 83, of Belvidere, IL passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 in Belvidere. Mary was born August 2, 1938 the daughter of Walter and Marguerite (Druehl) Landwehr in Elgin, IL. Mary married the love of her life John Stanford in Elgin Illinois at Holy Trinity. She was a graduate of Elgin High School and worked at Sherman Hospital as a medical secretary. Mary loved to bake and cook, but more importantly she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She made her spiritual home at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere. She will be missed by all.

Mary is loved and will be missed by her children, Laurie Ann (James) Alexander, Susan Lynne (Greg) Thompson; grandchildren, John, Rachel (Ben), Sara, Kara (Chris), Jamie; great-grandchildren, Grace, Claire; sisters, Carolyn, Barb as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, Norman, Marge (Irv), Barbara, Sharon and brother-in-law, Jack

Cremation rites have been accorded. Celebration of life to take place at a later date. Memorial to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
