Mary Ellen Melms, 84, formally of Capron, IL passed away
peacefully on September 24, 2019, in Brodhead, WI. She was born July 21, 1935
in Capron to Roy and Ada (Proctor) Hursh. She married her sweetheart, Grant 'Bud' Melms
on August 26, 1953 in Capron.

Mary graduated high school and was employed with Rock Valley
College as the secretary of the Technology Department until her retirement. She
was a member of the Moose in Harvard. Mary enjoyed games shows and loved to go
to casinos and play cards. She was an avid reader and a fan of romance novels.
She loved to spend time with her family and grandkids.

Mary was loved and will be dearly missed by her sons, Mike
(Jackie), Marty (Traci), Max (Kris) and Mitch (Paula); brother, Ralph (Bev)
Hursh; grandchildren, Heather, Jacob, Andrew, Zach, Grant and Madison; and five
great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant 'Bud'; her parents; and brother, George (Nancy) Hursh. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere. Randy Heinzeroth will officiate.
