Mary Louise McGill's Obituary

Mary Louise McGill, passed away on April 4, 2026. She was born on August 10, 1936. The daughter of Ralph and Bernice Landphere. Mary graduated from Belvidere high school in 1954. She married William McGill on June 27, 1954. Mary worked for over 25 years as a secretary for Belvidere High School and retired in 2004.

She loved going on vacation especially with her aunt Sue, antique shopping, planting flowers and watching hallmark movies. Above all, Mary loved spending her time with her grandchildren and children play sports, watch musicals, and visiting with family and friends. Mary will be remembered for her kindness and compassion, and deep love for her family and community.

She is survived by her children, David McGill, Mike (Sue) McGill, Diane (Carl) Monroe, Tom (Michelle) McGill, and Karen (Jeff) Hauser; grandchildren, Richard McGill, Tara (Marc) Felix, Heather Bolen, Justin (Kelli) Monroe, Jacob Monroe, Sean (Lindsay) McGill, Courtney (Jeffrey) Adkins, Joshua (Jillian) Hauser, Mackenzie (Nathan Simons) and Braydon Hauser; great grandchildren, Haley, Madalyn, Declan, Liam, Connor, Cameron, Stella, Rafe, Gemma, Charlotte, William, Eleanor, Andrew, Owen, Everleigh, and Jaylie.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William McGill, and her parents, Ralph and Bernice Landphere, and brothers, Richard and Jimmy Landphere.

Mary’s visitation will be Saturday, April 11th between the hours of 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 12th at 2pm at First Baptist Church located at 1255 W. Jackson St. Belvidere, IL 61008. Burial will be at Flora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Mary’s memory.
