Mary A. Hyser, 86, of Belvidere, IL, died Thursday morning, July 31, 2014 at Maple Crest Care Centre. Mary was born July 30, 1928 in Belvidere, IL, daughter of Pearley and Mildred (Lanning) Stroup. She was married to Glen W. Hyser. Mary worked in the kitchen at Washington Elementary School in Belvidere and then at Levi Thomas Overhall Factory in Belvidere. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, collecting historical papers, and cookie baking.
She is loved and will be missed by her children, Carol (Lester) Hill of Garden Prairie, IL, Diann Marshall of Rockford, IL, Glen Allen (Rose) Hyser of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, Mary L. Hyser of Belvidere; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Glen, son, Gary Hyser, infant daughter, Nancy Hyser; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 4, 2014 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Dan Schenck officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family in Mary A. Hyser's name.
