Mary Hoover, 80, of Rockford, formerly of Belvidere, died Thursday evening, September 15, 2005 in Swedish-American Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 4, 1925 in Lexington, Kentucky, daughter of Vernal and Martha (Corey) Clem. Married to James Hoover in Nicholasville, Kentucky, July 18, 1947. He died January 15, 1976. She is a retired caregiver. In he free time, she enjoyed crocheting, fishing and gardening. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Garst, Rockford, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to being predeceased by her husband, she is also predeceased by her son, Virgil Lee Cornwell, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
