Mary Luann Harris, 67, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born on September 15, 1958, Mary was the daughter of Raymond Riley and Janice (Bloomingdale). She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and strength shaped the lives of those around her.
Mary met the love of her life, Steven Harris, on a blind date at Whisky River in Belvidere. That chance meeting blossomed into a lifetime of love, friendship, and unwavering commitment, culminating in nearly 49 years together. They were married on June 25, 1977 and were blessed with 3 children.
Mary and Steven worked at Aero-Line in Loves Park, faithfully serving their community while providing for their family. Throughout her career, Mary also worked at Automatic Electric and Warner Electric, and she spent many years managing McDonald's and Arby's.
She had a remarkable gift for working with people, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her strong work ethic, kindness, and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
A woman of deep faith, Mary found joy in flowers, the beauty of the outdoors, and time spent with those she loved most. She was a sweetheart with a strong will, never afraid to speak her mind, and she carried a heart of gold. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Mary is survived by her husband, Steven Harris, their children, Kim (Dewey) Barnes, Douglas (Jeana) Harris, and Anthony (Carrie) Harris, 10 grandchildren, 11, great-grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Pam) Riley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family she loved dearly.
She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, Raymond and Janice Riley, grandma and grandpa, Bloomingdale, grandma and grandpa Riley, and brother, William Riley.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
