Belvidere, IllinoisMary S. Crawford, 92, of Belvidere, Illinois died early Friday morning, July 18, 2008 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL after a short illness. Mary was born in Belvidere the daughter of George A. and Adelaide (Comstock) Schauer, on April 15, 1916. Mary was a life long Belvidere resident. She graduated from Belvidere High School; enjoyed playing the piano and loved to garden. Mary retired from Barber Coleman in 1984 where she was employed as a secretary. She was a member of the Belvidere Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses where she was very active.Survivors include her children, Alan T. (Carol) Crawford of Belvidere and Curt A. Crawford of Belvidere; two grandchildren, Angela (Dale) Beckman and Aimee (Michael) Kirkley; four great-grandchildren, Brent Beckman, Brooke Beckman, Abigail Kirkley, Rebecca Kirkley; Special Friend, Margaret Kummerow.Mary was predeceased by her parents, brother, George "Bud" Schauer and her twin brother who died at birth.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established with Jehovah's Witnesses in Mary's memory.
