Garden Prairie, IL

Marvis was born July 25,1916 to Marvin and Henrietta Lampert Watson, on her grandparent's farm in Apple River, IL. She died March 12, 2018 at Northwoods Care Center in Belvidere, IL. She was a graduate of Belvidere High School. In April 1936 she married the love of her life William J. Wascher. They were life long residents of Garden Prairie.  Marvis worked at National Sewing Machine, Bel Mar Country Club, and at both Highland and St. Joseph's Hospitals as an L.P.N. She loved her church, her family, fishing, vacations to Ely, MN, her cats, feeding the birds, trips to the Wis. Cottage with her daughter Karen, always a ride after dinner to look for deer and hanging her laundry outside to dry.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Paul) Rivers, her son, William (Judy) Wascher; 7 grandchildren, Daniel (Shelly) Wascher, Corey (Sandra) Wascher, Wendy (Anthony) Bruno, Patrick (Lisa) Rivers, Michael (Julie) Rivers, Kelly Rivers and Gaye (Steve) Masnjak; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Garden Prairie United Church of Christ, 10990 US-20, Garden Prairie, IL 61038 with Rev. Dina Lawman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Garden Prairie Cemetery.  Memorials can be given to Garden Prairie United Church of Christ or Noah's Ark.
