Marvin A. Wilks, 82, of Belvidere, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born January 15, 1929 in Fort Payne, Alabama, son of Richard Alexander and Jamie (Cox) Wilks. Faithfully served our country in the US Marines from 1952 to 1960. Married Ozeal Ingle on Sept. 6, 1953 in Ringold, Georgia. Worked for Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 1978 and also drove truck for 20 years. Enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping, loved to spend time with his grand and great-grandchildren, and never wanted to miss playing pinochle at the Keenage Center. Member of East Park Baptist Church.Survivors include his loving wife Ozeal, daughters Shirley (Daniel) Draper of Adairville, KY, Linda (Ron) Weber of Belvidere, Lisa (Dennis) Duckwiler of Winter Garden, FL, Sons Billy (Gay) of Valleyhead, AL, Mike of Valleyhead, AL, Ronnie (Angelique) of Rockford, 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brothers Richard, Cecil (Ruby Jo), Austus (Margaret), and Edward, sisters Janette Coons, and Lilly McKenzie, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, twin sister Martha, sisters Edith and Pearl, brothers Lewis and Earl Evans.
Memorials may be given to the Keenage Center of Belvidere.
