Marvin "Gerry" Lee, 82, of Kirkland, IL, joined his loving wife in heaven on Thursday, September 15th, 2016 surrounded by his family. Gerry was born on April 18, 1934 in Irene, IL.

He began working at his family quarry, Charles F. Lee and sons at the age of 12. He met his soulmate at 18 and married her on June 9th, 1954. Gerry was a volunteer fireman for Boone Co. Rural District #2 for 25 years and served as a trustee for 16 years. Gerry's world revolved around his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was known for his hard work ethic, his sense of humor, and his entertaining stories. His hobbies included: racing stock cars, bowling, working, and watching western movies, golf cart rides, spending weekends camping at the pond, and watching his family grow.

Gerry will be reunited in heaven with his wife, Carole, son, Craig Lee; parents, Charles and Eunice Lee; sisters, Clara, Karen, and Connie Lee; brother, Barton Lee; great- grandson, Austin Lee, and "Grandson" Branden Ramey.

He will be missed by his children, Kerry and Kris Lee, Tom Lee, Lisa and Rusty Lindberg; grandchildren, Meagen and Jeremy Lee, Corey and Hanna Lee, Grant (Eva Barrett) Lee, Stephanie Lee, Stacey (Bryce Trevino) Lee, Tayler (Cameron McKee) Lindberg, Tanner Lindberg, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the funeral home, also the day of service from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Flora Cemetery.
