Martyn "Skid" James DePoutee, 80, of Rockford, formerly of Belvidere, died March 11, 2010 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born April 8, 1929 to Martyn Joseph and May (Facklam) DePoutee in Gary, IN. Married Pauline Hawkey on May 14, 1950 in Belvidere. She died June 14, 1996.Served in the Marine Corps at the end of World War II, retired as Chief of Plant Protection for the Belvidere Plant after 23 years at Chrysler, farmed in Boone Co. 1953 to 1964 and was an officer on the Belvidere Police Dept. during the early 1950's. Member of the Belvidere VFW, the China Marine Assoc., and the Seagoing Marine Assoc. He was a history buff and an racing enthusiast.Survivors include daughter Susan (Robert) Cesario of Lemont, IL and son Rush (Cynthia) DePoutee of Rockford, 1 grandson, 4 step-grandchildren and 3 great-step grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents and sister Sharon McLellan.
