Marlyn Ruth Tripp, 85, of Belvidere, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Maplecrest Care Centre. Marlyn was born July 24, 1927 in Dixon; daughter of Harry and Mary (Shufelt) Kizer. Marlyn married David P. Tripp on October 16, 1955 in Belvidere, IL. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Belvidere where she taught Sunday school and was also a Girl Scout leader. Graduated from Belvidere High School in 1945. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Anthony Molinari, the staff at OSF, and Maplecrest Care Centre for their loving and compassionate care. Marlyn loved her family and friends and will be missed by her children, daughter Diane McCollom; son Terry (Kelly) Tripp all of Belvidere; grandchildren Trisha McCollom, Christopher (fiancé Karen Prochnicki) McCollom, Andrea Tripp and Alex Tripp; great-grandson Dylan McCollom; sister-in-law Helen Kizer; nephews Rick and Jeffrey Kizer. Predeceased by her parents, husband David, twin brothers Harold and Howard Kizer, and sister-in-law Mary Kizer.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church.
