Marlene Cushman, 87, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 17, 2022. Marlene was born May 24, 1934 in Chester, S.C. the daughter of Lunice H. and Mattie Kate (Durden) Ulm. Marlene graduated from Columbia High School and worked as an office manager for a number of years. She married the love of her life Richard E. Cushman on June 1, 1952 in Columbia, SC. Marlene cherished the time she spent with her children as they grew up and was active in the Belvidere community. Marlene loved to play bridge and enjoy a snack. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church for over 70 years. She will be missed by all.
She is loved and will be missed by her children, Daniel (Vicki) Cushman, Diane (Shirley Brooks) Cushman, Lisa Hasting, Lori (Debra Sparks) Cushman; grandchildren, Melanie, Jonathan, Kim, Kelli, Jasmine, Dionna, Adrianna, Kassie, Aaron, Krista; special friend Laura as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Lunice and Mattie Kate; son, Richard Michael; son-in-law, Tom Hasting; sisters, Mildred Dean, Laverne Clack and special nephew, Eddie Hogan

The funeral service for Marlene will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 217 E. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL, 61008. Cremation rites have been accorded.
