Mark A. Knox, 56, of Poplar Grove, IL passed away peacefully, early Thursday morning, October 30, 2014 in his home after a lingering illness.  Mark was born May 12, 1958 in Belvidere, IL the son of Gerald L. and Velma (Butler) Knox.  Mark graduated from Belvidere High School in 1976 and entered the US Army in June of that year.  He was Honorably Discharged in June 1979 at Ft. Carson, Colorado.  He married Renee K. Schoff on December 31, 1988 in Belvidere.  Mark worked for Dean Foods then as a carpenter before becoming a plumber in 1991.  Mark was a veteran of the US Army; a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; and enjoyed fishing, helping friends with horses and  his involvement with Boy Scouts.

Mark is loved and will be missed by his wife, Renee; children, Zachary and Olivia, both of Poplar Grove, Nichole (Jeff) Warren of South Beloit, IL, Mark Kigar of Massachusetts, Heidi (Eric) Gregory of Machesney Park, IL, Vanessa Croyl of Killeen, TX; 11 grandchildren; brother, Kevin Knox of Belvidere; sisters, Brenda Douglas, Diana (Greg) Anderson, both of Belvidere; 3 nieces and 3 nephews.  Mark is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 Belvidere Rd., Belvidere, IL with Rev. Allan Buss, pastor officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W.
