Marjorie L. Wheeler, 91, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Belvidere, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Crimson Pointe Assisted Living Facility. Marjorie was born January 23, 1922 in Belvidere, daughter of Elmer and Luella (Aves) Ollmann. She married Glenn G. Wheeler on August 7, 1943 in Jackson, Mississippi. Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Belvidere. She worked for GE telephone in Genoa and as a cafeteria aide at Perry School. Marjorie was a lifelong member of Flora Grange, a 65 year member of U of I home extension, Boone County Chapter, volunteered at Maple Crest and the Keenage Center. She helped in the home economics building at the Boone County Fair; socially active with numerous card groups. Marjorie was the grand matriarch at Crimson Pointe. She was involved in floral group, a member of the food and activity committee, and organized and ran weekly Saturday bingo. Marjorie was a kind, loving, caring, generous person with good humor and lived life to the fullest.She is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Sandra (Cameron) Brenner; grandchildren, Heather (Eric) Jernstad, Garret (Jodi) Wheeler and Amy Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Logan Jernstad, Emerson Wheeler, Jack Wheeler and Aiden Wheeler. She is preceded by her parents; husband, Glenn; and son, Gary
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be give to the University of Illinois Home Extension- Boone County Chapter or Boone County Fair Association for a memorial bench in Marjorie's name.
