Marjorie J. Anderson, 75 of Rockford, IL died peacefully, Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in her home after a sudden illness. Marge was born July 24, 1938 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Dr. David M. and Lottie S. (Baranowski) Sachtleben. Marge majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry at Northern Illinois University earning a BS in Education and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She went on to earn her Master of Arts in teaching from Rockford College where she majored in Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders. Marge was a teacher for the Rockford Public School District retiring from Auburn High School. Mom was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church. She was a past queen of Alabet Temple #31 Daughters of the Nile, and a founding member of Ajeb Temple Daughters of the Nile (Greenbay, WI). Mom was a member of Partners in Educating All Children Equitable, as well as a member of PEO Chapter V.
Mom will be remembered for her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren. Mom is loved and will be missed by her children, Jeffrey S. (Yvonne) Anderson of Rockford, Stephen G. (Diann) Anderson of Poplar Grove, Roger D. (Cindy) Anderson of Winnebago; grandchildren, David R. Anderson, Jonathan P. Anderson, Patrick S. (fiancé Tiana Hagerman) Anderson, Matthew S.(fiancé Mary Bohlke) Anderson, Carter D. Anderson, Ella T. Anderson, James W. Johnson, Jeffrey W. (fiancé Grace Wallden) Johnson; sisters Carol L. Czarnecki, Susan S. Howard, Stasia N. (Lawrence) O'Neil, nieces and nephews.; her companion and dear friend George Dowell and his family, her former husband Roger L. Anderson as well as her four legged kid Willow. Mom is preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Audrey; sister Barbara M. (Robert) McCann and daughter in-law Rev. Patricia A. Anderson.
