Belvidere, IllinoisMarjorie M. "Marj" Churchill, 89, of Belvidere died April 15, 2007 at her home. Marjorie was born August 23, 1917, to Nellie (Ault) and Chellis Vandeburg. She graduated from Belvidere High School and Northern Illinois Teachers College. She was a teacher at Irene School, a one-room schoolhouse in Flora Township. On June 9, 1945, Marjorie married Robert E. "Bob" Churchill. She became a homemaker and helped on the family farm. She also worked at Chrysler as a meal cashier and kitchen worker to help out her children though college. Marjorie was a member of First Presbyterian Church, County Line Grange, Flora Homemakers, Avery Club, and Mothers and Daughters. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Her abundant love, humor and strength of spirit will be missed greatly by those who loved her. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" in 1994, her son Robert R. "Bob" in 2004 and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Roberta Churchill of Clinton, Iowa; daughter-in-law Kimberly Jones of Monkton, Vermont; granddaughter, Rachel Jones, 18, a student at Pomona College in Claremont California; grandson, Callahan Churchill, 14, a student at Gailer School in Middlebury, Vermont; sister Virginia (Bruce) Churchill of Kalamazoo, Michigan; nieces Connie (Blake) Hagman, Carolyn (Tom) Fehsenfeld and Polly Churchill all of Michigan; nephew Bruce L. Churchill of Maine; cousins and adopted "Families" Earl and Beverly Swanson and family; Shelia Austin and family and Eunice Wilson. A special thank you to Marjorie's caregivers, the staff of Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center, friends, neighbors and family who sustained Marjorie during her last weeks of life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
