Marjorie L. Campbell, 90, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Maplecrest Care Centre. Born November 26, 1922 in Belvidere; daughter of Oscar W. and Alma (Kjell) Nelson. Married Ronald Campbell on June 16, 1946 in Belvidere and they shared a wonderful life for 63 years before Ronald died on October 17, 2009. Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper for the Belvidere Candy Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1985, and was an area farmer. Member of First United Methodist Church since 1934, where she was active in the Sunshine Circle, Sorosis, the Monday Nighters, BYKTOA (Be Ye Kind To One Another), and the United Methodist Women. She was also involved with the Belvidere Women's Club and the Highland Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her son Bruce (Connie) of Rockford; daughter Jill (Dick) Countryman of Belvidere; grandchildren Nicole Campbell of Chicago, Kimberly (David) Mainwaring of Oregon, Jennifer (Chad) Haschel of Indiana; great-grandchildren Samuel and Jackson Haschel; sister Mildred Allen of Belvidere; sister-in-law Rose Nelson of CA; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband Ronald, brothers Kenneth and Everett Nelson.
