Marilyn Ann Westerberg, 78, of Rockford and formerly of Elk Grove Village, Illinois died Thursday evening, October 25, 2007 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a lingering illness. Marilyn was born August 22, 1929 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Robert F. and Edith M. (Page) Sells. Prior to her retirement, Marilyn taught elementary education in the northwest suburbs with District 59. She graduated from Oak Park High School, Rockford College and earned her masters degree from National College in Evanston, IL. In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed gardening and loved her animals. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Elk Grove Village.Survivors include her son, Robert (Sandra) Westerberg of Chandler, AZ; daughter, Ann Dooley of Loves Park, IL; former husband and good friend, John R. Westerberg of Litchfield Park, AZ. Marilyn is predeceased by her parents.

A memorial will be established and can be given in care of the family.
