Obituary

Marilyn F. Waterstraat, 80, of Belvidere, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born on November 30, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois; the daughter of Rudolph and Ella (Miller) Dunklau. Marilyn married her children's father, Thomas Nilsen but later divorced. She then married Richard Waterstraat on April 4, 1980 at the Church by the side of the road, Rockton, IL. Marilyn worked for International Harvester and Camcar. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, the Eagles Club, the V.F.W. and American Legion Women's Auxiliaries and the Moose Club. She is survived by her Husband, Richard Waterstraat; son, David (Nancy) Nilsen; 2 daughters, Lorel Nilsen, Lynda (Brian) Ditto; 3 step-children, Mary (John) Moore, Sandi (Jim) Deahn, Dave Waterstraat; 2 grandchildren Erik and Christopher Nilsen; 6 step-great grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Marilyn is preceded in death by parents, and sister, Bernadine Hauser and Step-son Richard Waterstraat.

Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Av. with the Rev. Muriel Morley Jahn, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ. Burial in Livingston Cemetery. Visitation Noon to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
