Marilyn L. Johnson, 82, of Rockford and formerly of Belvidere, died Thursday morning, October 22, 2009 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a sudden illness. Marilyn was born September 5, 1927 in Boone County the daughter of Theodore and Caroline (Edwards) Schwebke. She married Boyd Johnson on December 12, 1946 in Belvidere. Over the years she worked for the Shady Lane, Dr. Shay and retired from Belvidere High School where she worked in the cafeteria. Marilyn was a member of First United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose, and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Wednesday morning breakfast group.Survivors include her husband, Boyd; children, Allen Johnson of Belvidere, Gary (Carol) Johnson of Freeport, IL, Julie (Dan) Halley of Cherry Valley, IL; grandchildren, Robert, Kyle, Stacie, Brian; brother, Ronald Schwebke of Cherry Valley; numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn is predeceased by her parents, sisters, Viona Fidder, Lucille Taylor, Arlene Leonard; brothers, Melvin and Warren Schwebke.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Heart Association in Marilyn's name.
