Marilyn R. Burkholder, 83, of Belvidere, died Monday, May 19, 2014 in her home following a short illness. Born March 24, 1931 in Sublette, Illinois; the daughter of Glen and Madeline (Wagner) Smith. She married John Burkholder in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 17, 1965. Marilyn owned and operated the Casa Mia restaurant until retiring in 1976. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Marilyn also enjoyed wintering in Brownsville, Texas. She is survived by son, Terry (Chris Meredith) Burkholder, Belvidere, IL; step-son, Joe (Carol) Burkholder, of California and step-daughter, Anne (Gerald) Wise, Tampa, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Husband, John and brother, Robert Smith.

Memorial Services 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel 218 W. Hurlbut Av. Belvidere, Illinois. Pastor, Dan Lashley, of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation to take place with burial in Belvidere Cemetery.
