Marie Isabel Behnke, 99, of Rockford, IL, died February 4, 2023, in Rockford. She was born January 21, 1924, in Poplar Grove, IL, daughter to Arthur and Ellen (Hagedorn) Daniels. Marie graduated from Capron High School and married her sweetheart, Raymond Behnke, June 4, 1950. She worked as a machinist in a factory for many years and also as an inspector for Tachalloy. Marie was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ and their Woman's Club. She was also a member of the Moose and the Keen Age Center. Her interests included sewing and crocheting. She sold Avon, played cards and dominos and occasionally enjoyed going to the casinos.

Marie is loved and will be missed by her son, Darryl (Sandy) Winter; daughter, Jean (Marion) Thornberry; and son, Richard (Sandy) Behnke; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; nephews, one niece and multiple cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Harold Winter; daughter, Frances Lynn; granddaughter, Teri Winter; and 1 great grandchild, Tyler Rayphole.

A visitation will be at 11 a.m. to the time of service at 1 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2023 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 401 N. Main St., Belvidere, IL, 61008. Rev.
