Maria Guadalupe Roman, 74, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 4, 1952, to Maria de Jesus Sanchez Carlos and Miguel Garcia Escañuela. Born in Mexico and one of thirteen children, Maria was raised with deep faith, strong family values, and a lifelong devotion to those she loved. Maria was a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. A woman of grace and quiet strength, she expressed her love through caring for others. She was a wonderful cook who found joy in preparing homemade meals that brought her family together. She loved flowers and took great pleasure in tending her garden, where her nurturing spirit truly shined. Maria's heart was always with her family. She faithfully supported her grandchildren at their sports events and after-school activities whenever she could. She enjoyed going shopping with her daughters, and cherished quality time with her family.

Gentle, selfless, and deeply loving, Maria was the heart and glue of her family, a blessing whose legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Raul Roman; her children, Victor (Lorena) Roman, Doris (Luis) Roman, Norma (Concho) Roman, Yolanda (Antonio) Roman, Coco (Hugo) Roman, and Maria "Lupita" Roman; her grandchildren, Karina, Sarai, Victor Jr., Pepe, Stephanie, Kaylan, Chuy, Ricky, and Toñito; and her great-grandchildren, Araceli and Adalina. She is also survived by numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom she loved dearly.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Maria and Miguel, and her beloved brother, Raul Garcia Sanchez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A second visitation will take place on Friday, January 16, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow.

María Guadalupe Román, de 74 años, entró en paz al descanso eterno el 9 de enero de 2025, rodeada del amor de su familia. Nació el 4 de enero de 1952, hija de María de Jesús Sánchez Carlos y Miguel García Escañuela. Nacida en México y una de trece hijos, María se crio con una profunda fe, sólidos valores familiares y una devoción de por vida a sus seres queridos. María fue una esposa querida, una madre devota, una abuela amorosa y una bisabuela orgullosa. Mujer de gracia y fortaleza serena, expresó su amor a través del cuidado de los demás. Era una cocinera maravillosa que encontraba alegría en preparar comidas caseras que unían a su familia. Amaba las flores y disfrutaba mucho cuidando su jardín, donde su espíritu protector brillaba con luz propia. El corazón de María siempre estuvo con su familia. Apoyó fielmente a sus nietos en sus eventos deportivos y actividades extraescolares siempre que podía. Disfrutaba ir de compras con sus hijas y apreciaba el tiempo de calidad con su familia. Dulce, abnegada y profundamente amorosa, María fue el alma de su familia, una bendición cuyo legado de amor, fe y bondad perdurará en todos quienes tuvieron la bendición de conocerla.

A María le sobreviven su amado esposo, Raúl Román; sus hijos, Víctor (Lorena) Román, Doris (Luis) Román, Norma (Concho) Román, Yolanda (Antonio) Román, Coco (Hugo) Román y María "Lupita" Román; sus nietos, Karina, Sarai, Víctor Jr., Pepe, Stephanie, Kaylan, Chuy, Ricky y Toñito; y sus bisnietas, Araceli y Adalina. También le sobreviven numerosos hermanos, sobrinos y familiares a quienes amaba profundamente.

Fue recibida en el cielo por sus padres, María y Miguel, y su querido hermano, Raúl García Sánchez.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 15 de enero, de 4:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. en la Funeraria Anderson, ubicada en 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008.
Habrá un servicio el viernes lle de enero a las 11:00 am en la Funerana Anderson.
Posteriormente se realizará el sepelio.
