Maria M. Martinez, 86, of Belvidere, IL passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, December 2, 2021 at Swedish American Medical Center, Belvidere, IL. Maria was born May 4, 1935 in Jerez, Zac. Mexico, the daughter of Mariano Melendez and Elvira Roygoza.  She enjoyed Mexican Bingo (Loteria), crocheting, flowers, and music.  Maria loved all her family from her kids to her grandkids and great-grandchildren.  She was a woman of faith who prayed the Rosary every day.

Maria is loved and will be missed by her children, Amelia, Miguel, Angelita, Carmela, Luis, Rosa, Samuel, Nena, Susy, Chuy, and Pera. She is also survived by her Thirty-Three Grandchildren, Forty-Five Great-Grandchildren and her one Great-Great Grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL.  Burial will take place at El Calvario Cemeterio, Jerez, Zac., Mexico.
