Maria T. Lopez, 89, of Poplar Grove, IL, died peacefully December 10, 2022, in Poplar Grove. She was born June 14, 1933, in Yuriria, Guanajuato, daughter to Miguel and Julia Vargas Calderon.  Maria was a homemaker for many years who loved to spend time with family. In her past, she enjoyed cooking. In her present, she enjoyed her time watching her favorite television shows. She also attended St. James Church with her late son, Miguel.

She is loved and will be missed by her family.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband; and son, Miguel.

A visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022, at St. James Church in Belvidere. Cremation to follow and burial will take place in Mexico.
