Margie Geneva Day, 82, of Rockford, IL, passed away on March 5, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She was born on July 3, 1940 in Morristown Tennessee. The daughter of Mary and James Whaley. Margie was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was strong in her convictions and a free spirit. She was a lover of animals, and enjoyed spending her time camping. On March 12, 1970 she married the love of her life, Donald Orald Day, and together they shared 7 children and 31 years of marriage. Margie loved to try her luck at the casino gambling or playing bingo. She managed a food wagon at carnivals, and loved the places and people she met. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children; Janet Davis, Diane (Mike) Saeger, Donna (James) Brough, Lonnie (Carissa) Day, and Angela (Wade) Day, daughter-in-law; Renee Davis, sister; Judy Sager, 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, as well as her significant other, Alfred Haven.

She is predeceased by her husband; Donald Day Sr., sons; Donny Day Jr., Danny Davis, sister; Imagene McCoy, and great grandson; Daniel.

A visitation for Margie will be Monday, March 13th between the hours of 5-8pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut, Belvidere IL. A funeral will be Tuesday March 14th at 12pm at Anderson Funeral Home with pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Burial at Poplar Grove Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thank you to her wonderful hospice nurses, Dana and Shelly, for taking such great care of Margie.
