Obituary

Margaret Ann Pearson, 76, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on October 29, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on April 1, 1948, in Bloomington, IL, to Mary (Lindsey) and Edward Martin.


Margaret married the love of her life, Clinton Pearson, and together they shared three children and 58 wonderful years of marriage. Margaret and Clinton cherished traveling and going on road trips, creating lasting memories together. They loved spending quality time with family and friends, often sharing laughter and joy during gatherings. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.


A graduate of Harvard High School, Margaret worked for many years as a manager at Haircrafters and later at Looking Good Fitness Salon. Her commitment to helping others led her to further her education at Rock Valley College, where she pursued a career in Special Education.


Margaret was a dedicated member of the support staff at District 100 for over 15 years. Her passion for education and her love for her students made a lasting impression on the lives of many young people. An avid reader, she found joy in immersing herself in books, exploring different worlds and stories that sparked her imagination.


She is survived by her loving husband, Clinton; their children, Kimberly (Kevin) Friend, Scott Pearson, and Dawn Bye; grandchildren, Kristopher Friend, Korbin Friend, Trevor Mattson,  Justin (Victoria) Mattson, Teagan (Spencer Shaw) Toft, and Tanner Pearson; great-grandchildren, Layla Shaw and Monte Mattson; sister, Carol (Bob) Dunn; brother-in-law, Ray McCloskey; as well as her beloved pets, Mocha and Sadie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family whom she loved dearly.


Margaret was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Mary and Edward Martin; granddaughter, Courtney Gallano Pearson; great-grandson, William Mattson; brother, Bob Martin; and sister, Shirley McCloskey.


Funeral services are private for family at this time, in accordance with Margaret's wishes, with burial at Belvidere Cemetery.
