Margaret M. "Peggy" Murphy, 63, of Belvidere, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 in Swedish-American Hospital after a short illness. Born March 6, 1942 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, daughter of Melvin and Cora (Handvury) Brockman. She has lived in Belvidere since 1998, coming here from Elgin, Illinois. Married to Ronald P. Murphy in Wood Dale, Illinois on February 8, 1964. Employed as an Accounts Payable Bookkeeper by R & D Thiel for five years. She was very involved with her children and grandchildren. She had a green thumb and enjoyed flower gardening. Peggy graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Elmhurst, Illinois. She is survived by her husband, Ron of Belvidere, Illinois; three children, Kevin (Laura) Murphy of Portland, Oregon; Timothy (fiancée' Angela Cooper) Murphy of La Plata, Maryland; Kathleen (Eugene) Ritchie, Belvidere, Illinois; three grandchildren, Justin Murphy; Dana Murphy and Wesley Cooper; and two brothers, Thomas (Sue Brockman, Atlanta, Georgia; John (Sheila) Brockman, Hanover Park, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Mary.Visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home 218 W. Hurlbut Av. followed by a Celebration of Her Life at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Eugene Wille, officiating. The family has requested that there be no flowers.
