Marcia J. Tuttle, 75, of Poplar Grove, died May 15, 2010 in Crossroads Care Center, Woodstock, IL. Born March 13, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of Richard and Elsa (de Hossen) Harman. Married Robert A. Tuttle on June 27, 1959 in West Allis, WI, he passed away November 5, 2002. Marcia was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, Harvard Village Quilters, Kishwaukee Evening and Afternoon Quilters, Rock-n-Knitters, Boone County, IL, and National Education Associations and the Land of Lincoln Theatre Organ Society. Received BS degree from Carthage College in 1952 and her MS degree from NIU-Dekalb in 1982. She taught English and Science in the Poplar Grove junior high school, where for 35 years she made personalized stocking caps for her students. Should you still have your cap please bring it for the service for a display in her honor. Marcia and her husband Bob donated the land for the Tuttle-Clarkson Conservation Park in Poplar Grove. They also donated many items to the Boone County Historical Society.Survivors include a multitude of cousins and friends.Preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and brother David Harman.
