Marcia Barefield, 66, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully March 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 17, 1958, in Belvidere, daughter to Richard and Esther (Maitland) Stedman.

She graduated high school and attended Rock Valley College. She worked at Green Giant/General Mills for 30 plus years as the safety coordinator and attended City First in Rockford. Interests included sports with a love for the Cubs, The Bears and The Fighting Irish, Notre Dame football.

Marcia had a deep love for buttered popcorn (a love developed from her grandfather Raymond Maitland), root beer floats and fireworks especially at Disney!

Marcia will be loved and is dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Roy Choi; best friend, Laura Castro; her dogs Zoey and Bruno; grand-dog, Dobby; nephew, Dan Dittbenner, his wife Rachel and their children, Tanner, Madison, Danielle, Colton; sisters, Cheryl Reynolds and Meredith Smith;  and multiple nieces and nephews and their children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Esther and her sister, Laurel Dittbenner.
