Maddy W. Geissman, age 60, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2026. He was born on September 23, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, and was the beloved son of Mary (Love) Geissman and Donald Geissman.
Maddy grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Streamwood High School. From a young age, he was known as a hardworking, dependable man who took pride in doing things the right way. That work ethic stayed with him throughout his life. He spent nearly 24 years working as a truck driver for R+L Carriers, where he was respected as a dedicated employee, a reliable teammate, and a man who could always be counted on. Maddy took great pride in providing for his family and believed strongly in the value of an honest day's work.
On June 23, 1990, Maddy married the love of his life, Christina (DaBaco). Together, they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and commitment, sharing 35 years of marriage. Whether it was offering advice, lending a hand, or simply being present, Maddy showed his love through action and unwavering support.
Maddy was a lifelong member of the NRA and a passionate gun enthusiast who firmly believed in gun safety and responsibility. He enjoyed spending time at the shooting range practicing his skills and sharing his knowledge with others. An avid hunter, Maddy felt most at peace outdoors, surrounded by nature. He also loved fishing and spending time near the water, where he could relax, reflect, and enjoy the simple things in life.
Those who knew Maddy knew him as a strong, steady, and genuine man with a big heart. He had a great sense of humor and a smart-aleck way about him that never failed to make people smile.
He was friendly, down-to-earth, and always willing to help others. He valued family traditions, time with friends, and moments shared around laughter and conversation. Above all, Maddy cherished the time he spent with those he loved most.
Maddy will be remembered as a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a man of integrity who lived his life with purpose and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
