M. Alice Thompson, 67, of Belvidere, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in her home after a long illness. Born July 8, 1943 in Freeport, IL, daughter of William and Ruth (Garman) Weeks. Married Robert Thompson on December 9, 1961 in Belvidere. Alice was never without something to do; over the years she worked at Genoa Light Electric, Fairview Manor, a security guard at Prange Way, a greeter at Walmart, a den mother for the Cub scouts, an avid bowler and quilter, she restored furniture and was the neighborhood vet as she was such an animal lover, and she was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Belvidere.Survivors include her husband Robert, daughter Bobbi Jean (Kevin) Mahley of Belvidere, sons Daniel (Tammy) of Roscoe and Bill (Chris) of Paxton; grandchildren Ronnie, Jared, Jessica, Nathaniel, Nathan and Travis; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Ruth Jane (Dale) Marcellus of VA, and brother Alvin Weeks of WI., and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents.
