IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynnell "Lynn"
Saso
January 5, 1955 – February 1, 2026
Lynnell "Lynn" Saso, 71, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 5, 1955, in Joliet, Illinois, Lynn lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and devotion to others.
Lynn was the beloved wife of Donald Saso, whom she married on August 29, 1980, in Wheaton, Illinois. Together they built a home that was always open—a place where generations of family found comfort, care, and unconditional love whenever they needed it. To many, Lynn wasn't just a mother or grandmother; she was everyone's mom or grandma.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in time spent with her grandchildren. Lynn also had a deep love for gardening, animals, and her cherished collection of pig trinkets, which brought her endless smiles.
Lynn dedicated much of her life to serving others. She worked as a secretary for Kishwaukee Elementary School as well as Belvidere High School. She also spent many years mentoring and leading 4-H groups, especially the Grasshoppers–Sweet Clovers Club. Through her guidance, patience, and encouragement, she touched countless young lives and left a lasting impact on her community.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Donald Saso; her children Angel (Bob) Ellsworth, Matt (Sherri) Saso, Eric Schultz, Toni Gabriel, and Don (Chelsea) Saso II; and her cherished grandchildren Breanna, Becky, Nathan, Rylee, Teagan, Tyler, Ashley, Adriana, Heather, Jake, Trace, Emily, McKenna, Macyn, Carson, Cooper, Savannah, and Landon. She is also survived by her brother Bruce (Madeline) Wilson, along with 11 great grandchildren plus one on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Merle (Elyn) Pogliano and Marilyn (Vic) Wilson; her sisters Merla Jean and Mona; and her son-in-law Eric Gabriel.
A memorial service honoring Lynn's life will be held on Saturday, February 7, from 10:00 a.m. til noon, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, Illinois.
Lynn will be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering kindness, and tenacity, which made her the driving force of her family, building a legacy that lives on through the many lives she nurtured and the family she held so close to her heart.
